As Apple’s lineup continues to grow, more users are finding themselves using one device at home and one on the road. Because of that, we are seeing more home workstations in need of customization.
If you’re like myself, then an external monitor attached to a MacBook Air is the solution to this problem. The struggle of this setup is the height differential between each display. If you’re someone that sits at a desk all day, this is an issue that is certainly noticeable (and annoying!).
Grovemade, a Portland-based company, recently announced its own solution to this problem. Over the last few weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to work with the Walnut Laptop Stand. Head below for more details and to find out how you could win one yourself…
It’s not hard to see why “Made the Hard Way” is proudly proclaimed on many of its products and on its website. Instead of taking the quick route, or the cheaper one, Grovemade has made a concerted effort to manufacture by hand here in the United States. The time and care put into its products, including the Walnut Laptop Stand is certainly evident.
This new accessory fits in perfectly with Grovemade’s Desk Collection, which is available in either Walnut or Maple. The Laptop Stand itself is a beautiful mixture of wood, metal and leather that creates a home for your device. Grovemade has done an excellent job on the height and angle of display, it’s not too high or too low. There is plenty of room below for storing external hard drives or tucking away your mouse and keyboard at the end of the day.
Grovemade could have easily skimped on certain details and features along the way but the choice not to is what sets this stand apart from its competition. This is especially true with the curved stainless steel piece that the laptop sits against. It is lined with vegetable tanned oil and has a cutout that mirrors the notch at the base of Apple’s laptops. It’s the extra things here that make this product standout.
While other companies were first to this product category, Grovemade has arguably executed it in a better way. Nothing about the Laptop Stand feels cheap. The wood and metal complement each other nicely, appearing like they belong together. Grovemade’s Laptop Stand retails for $119 and is available in Walnut and Maple. If you’re looking for a solution to give your laptop a boost, we recommend giving the Laptop Stand a look.
